Hi, thanks in advance for your answer. I have a 2004 Honda civic DX 4dr sedan. When on a forward upfacing hill the car rolls back some, also please note that there dosnt seem to be any difference in the shifting when in drive or drive3. Just bought car and recognising problems. I hope you can help-Thanks

Hi itisjustme,

It is normal for vehicle to roll back when stopped on an incline. If idling speed is 700 to 800 rpm, there is nothing to worry about just remember to use the foot/park brakes.

The only difference between D4 and D3 would be the fourth speed so you should see a difference in engine rpm at cruising when you shift from D4 to D3.
