Sorry for not making my question clear. I still do not understand your question clearly and with insufficient information, I am not able to determine the problem and hope I guessed it correctly.
You are not able to turn the key of the door lock from outside to lock or unlock the door? If yes, then the key lock cylinder is either worn resulting in the tumblers getting stuck or you have foreign materials lodged inside preventing the cylinder from being turned.
Spray some WD 40 into the key cyliinder and try wigggling the key to see if it can get the tumblers unstuck. Compressed air would be a good help to get any debris stuck inside the key cylinder out.
If the above fails, you would either need to replace the key cylinder or repaired by a locksmith.
