Hi!
I have a honda 03 civic and when I make sharp turns or sharp u-turns, sometimes the car cuts off. But I can put it in park and start it right back up. Do you know what could be the problem.

I replaced few months ago
1. Timing belt
2. Water pump
3. Sparks plugs

Hi ken258,

This should have nothing to do with those things that you have replaced.

I would suspect it to be fuel related, more likely someting inside the fuel tank.

Does it happen only when fuel tank level is below a certain level? Does not happen when full tank of fuel?

Hey buddy,
thanks for replying to my question. Actually I took it to a mechanic and he told me that a fuse that controls the power of the car was loose, after he put it back its happened to me once again but after that it has'nt happened again for two weeks now. Since then I contacted a honda dealer and they told me it could be an ignition switch but they would charge me $130 to check it out. Another mechanic told me to do a throttle cleanup for $120. So I went onto the internet and went through some honda forums and I found a similar post where a honda accord was cutting off while he was driving and when he went to the dealer he found out that some wires leading to the ignition were fried. Now was'nt aware of the fuel level when my car cut off but if it does happen in the future i'll note it down. So if it happens to be a fuel problem how would I be able to diagnose it. Thanks again for replying to my question.

Hi ken258,

You are welcomed.

Yes, loose wires, connectors etc that can be flung around by momentum can cause disruptions in power supply.

The ignition switch is quite possible as well and there was a Technical Service Bulletin out where there was a recall and you can check with Honda to see if your vehicle is under the recall and entitled for a check/replacement
