ive been going back and forth on this for a few days. I'm driving across country 3,000+ miles from portland to New york in my honda civic. Uhaul says my make and model is okay to pull a small 4X8 enclosed trailer with a 2,000 lbs hitch on it as long as I keep the load under 1,500 lbs. I'm not taking anything heavy just boxes of clothes, and "stuff" no furniture at all. I've asked several Uhaul "experts" and went on line, called etc and they all seem to think this is okay. However guys at the Honda dealership say they've never heard of it. Now I'm torn believe 4 or 5 people trying to sell me something at Uhaul or believe the one guy at honda dealership? I just don't want to ruin my car. I'm putting in 2,000 worth of car work as I type this.
On the way out here I jammed packed my car til the ground was almost touching. That to me seems worse on a car than towing a load. Any thoughts out there please?
