Heater problem
2002 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 150K miles

Car blows cold air even though temp gauge shows warmed up. Doesn't matter if on heat or defrost and doesn't change even if A/C compressor is off. Also doesn't matter if on recirculate or fresh air. Then just all of a sudden it will switch over to heat and blow hot air. Then works until started cold again. Sometimes it seems to help the changeover if the car is reved up a little. Thanks for the help

Hi - I have the same problem with a 2002 EX. The heater is slow to put out heat, even when engine is warm. On the highway it is great, but if I go into city traffic and do stop and goes and revs go down to say 1000 rpm it starts putting out cold air again. If I'm parked with engine on, then no heat, but if I rev engine and keep it above 2000 rpm I get heat again.

Mechanic has replaced thermostat (twice), coolant, flushed system etc. Still the same problem.

Help!
Cold in Connecticut!
