I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic with 38,000 miles. From time to time, the key will get stuck in the ignition and I am not able to remove it, even turning the steering wheel or pushing in with the key. It is the original key, but I had a duplicate made at a Honda dealership, and it acts up the same way.

It is not the key but rather the key locking mechanism. I would try lubricating the lock with a spray liquid lubricant. It is possible that the lock is getting sticky and not releasing properly.
