LOUD NOISE COMING FROM INSIDE ENGINE FRONT
LIKE ITS UNDER TIMING BELT COVER
ITS A GRINDING / RAPID CLICKING NOISE

ENGINE WILL RUN, IT DID NOT STALL OR FAULT
NO ENGINE FAULT LIGHTS
NO METAL IN OIL---AS OBSERVED ON DIPSTICK.

CAR WAS SHUTDOWN AND TOWED HOME.

I NEED TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT MIGHT HAVE FAILED. TENSIONER, OIL PUMP?

H there,

This is a bit hard to say, but you may have broken a cam, the top timing cover is fairly easy to remove, pull that off and have a look at the cam gears & timing belt, start here.

JAQUEBAUER REPLIES;

Thanks for the reply. At 60 k had the timing belt, water pump, tensioner ( The Honda reccomended timing belt work) replaced by Honda. The irony is that we were shopping for a replacement car at the time of failure. I am going to pull the top timing cover today and eyeball things.

Again, thanks all for the rapid responses.
