My Honda has been stalling out on occasion while driving. I have been trying to eliminate possibilities. Did a fuel pressure check and that was fine. Hooked it to a scanner and got one code P1456 which led me to look at the Evaporative Emission Controls. Everything looks fine, there are no cracks in the cannister or hoses. My repair manual says some things about checking the Evaporate Emissions Purge Control Solenoid Valve but I didn't have a vacuum pump so I checked the electricity coming to it and it appears bad. Don't know how to locate and repair the open circuit since it is somewhere between the PCM and the valve and access is very difficult. Is this worth me continuing to investigate? Would this cause the car to stall?

Hi ngandy2,

The trouble code concerned should not be causing the engine to stall.

When does the stalling occur? While cruising, slowing down, stopped?

What is the idling speed?
Does turning the AC on change the idling speed drastically?
