The lights work fine, the fuse box under the dash shows no blown fuses. However when it comes to setting, the light turns on but it doesn't set on the odometer.

Right before I started the cross country trip, I had the windshield wipers fixed, the stick thing needed to be replaced. The cruise control buttons are on the steering wheel, not on the windshield wiper stick.

Where is the cruise control box located? Why isn't it setting when I need it to?

Hi Joscasta,

The ligght in the meter cluster lights up when you set the cruise control on? Or is it the switch light turns on only?

If light in meter is on, check the cables under hood and vacumn hose at diaphragm.

If light in meter does not come on, check the brake switch and pedal clearance. It could be a faulty switch if the clearance is correct.

If the speedometer is not working, the cruise control will not work too as the speed sensor is faulty and not producing the signal to the cruise control unit.

Control unit is found underdash above driver's legs

There are two buttons to push. One that turns on the cruise control, and one to set it. When I hit the "set" button, the light comes on just fine. But it doesn't "set".

Where is the light meter?

The speedometer works fine.

Hi Joscasta,

Check the cruise control throttle cable and vacumn pump under hood.

If no problem, the control unit should be faulty.
