While driving vehicle a/c runs cold. When idling the a/c stops blowing cold, vibrates more but then the vibration stops and it blows cold again. It continues to cycle in this way until I start driving again. A peek under the hood revealed that when it stops blowing cold, the fan comes on which causes the car to vibrate. When the fan stops the vibration stops. What does that fan do? Should it be on or off? Could my anti-freeze concentration be too low?

Hi aguet6825,

There should be 2 fans and both of them should be working when the AC compressor is engaged.

If the fan vibrates, most probably the motor is bad.

Are you sure the fan works when the AC is not cold? It should be the other way round.

What was the engine idling speed when fans work and stops?
