1991 Honda Civic Hatchback

I have a 91 civic hatchback 1.5 16 v 4 speed stick with 120186 miles at hi speeds my check engine light turns on the car sputters if you push the gas to hard to fast so it has somewhat of a fuel delivery problem however I just bought the car and I am going to do a tune up and change the fuel filter but if anyone has an idea why it is doing that please help thank you

You need to start by having the codes pulled from the computer. It will give you some indication of where to start looking. Get the codes and get back to us.

First off it is OBD2 and autozone stores are nice enough to do the task of pulling codes for you.

It is a 91 they didnt use obd2 till 96

Yeah I didn't look at the year of the vehicle. You need to do the clip on the computer to have it flash out the code with long and short light flashes.

You know it can be an electrical problem to. If the spark is not there 100% of the time then there is a fuel build up. When you pull the plugs, look at the them to see what color, etc they are. Note the cylinders that they came out of. Are you planning to put new plugs and wires on it?

Thanks for the help but I pulled the codes and it is my fuel injectors and my o2 sensor
