I feel abnormal vibration on the steering wheel and the floorboard of the driver side when the engine is warmed up and parked. This car was in a collision. I took it to Honda but they said the vibration might be because of the subframe was bent and out of alignment. They didn't even want to fix it even it the car was under powertrain warranty. They referred me to a body shop. What should I do to fix this problem? Will this problem turn to something major?

If the sub frame was bent and they fixed it, it should be fine. Have they checked to make sure the motor mounts and trans mounts are good?

Honda didn't even do anything but referred me to a body shop, and this car is still under powertrain warranty. Here's exactly what they wrote: "Tech found front radiator support has ben replaced and sub-frame bracket bent and subframe out of alignment causing possible vibration."I don't know if they check the motor mount or transmission mount. This car has only 22000 miles, do you think the motor mount or the transmission mount would fail at such low mileage? To fix the subframe bracket and the unalignment of the subframe, is it true, as Honda said, that I should go to a body shop?

Yes, a body shop would be more prepared for this type of repair. My concern is if the subframe was bent, there could be a broken or damaged mount. THey are actually covered with rubber and if damaged, engine vibration can be transfered to the frame then throughout the vehicle. Won't the body repair shop recheck their work? And, is the dealer saying the frame is still bent?

By the way, thank you very much for your valuable information. I haven't taken the car to a body shop yet. I only went to Honda once, and their diagnosis was : "Tech found front radiator support has ben replaced and sub-frame bracket bent and subframe out of alignment causing possible vibration." Any idea how much a body shop would charge for correcting the aforementioned problems? I think Honda would replace the engine mounts free of charge. But when they first spotted the bent subframe bracket and out-of-alignment subframe, they didn't want to get their hands in. I just bought this car two weeks ago from a non-Honda dealer. Do you think the problems of this car (vibration) fall under state (New York) used car lemeon law?
