Here's a bit of a timeline to illustrate the background of the problem I am having with my '03 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe:
December 2005 - Hit a patch of ice, skidded across a city street and hit the left side tires against the left lane curb (front tire took 90% of the impact). Took the car in for regular maintenance, asked that they investigate the ultra-stiff steering that came as a result of the curb incident. This resulted in a Power Steering Rack replacement. Since then, things seemed to be fine, up until about 2 months ago.
Admittedly, I didn't notice the problem (high speed vibration, pull to the left) until about 2 months ago (May 2006), after which I had the car in for another scheduled maintenance and left instructions for the mechanic (Honda dealership) to check out the aforementioned vibration and pull. They discovered that the rear rotors were at the point of replacement, and the back brake was sticking on. Replaced them, knowing that the front brakes aren't too far behind the rear ones in terms of wear. Only did the rear ones, as they were in most need of repair.
Got the car back from the mechanic, took the car out on the highway to test. Problem persisted. Took the car to a friend (who is a licensed mechanic), who swapped out the front left and rear right wheels, as the wheel that was on the front left had a bend in the rim (as a result of the incident in Dec.). Problem persists beyond tire rotation.
Anyways, long story short, I am still stuck with a heavy vibration at around 90k/h+. As well as a pull to the left at lower speeds and a more drastic pull to the left at high speeds. What should I be asking the mechanic to look for or what type of procedure should I have done when I take it back this week?
Thanks!
