I bought this car used two years ago, and have done nothing except the normal oil change/inspection since. Lately, its been struggling ever so slightly going uphills (even with A/C off). Not enough to worry too much, but enough to be concerned. Do you think its time for a tune-up, or is there something in particular I need to replace?

Also, another issue with it, is that the idle speed in drive is really fast. Is there any way to turn this down? In traffic, when most people are just releasing their brake and crusing with no gas pushed to move forward, I still have to hold down my break some and move forward with it held (if that makes sense). Seems like its eating my brakes.

Hi Daniel,

The idling system is malfunctioning due to vacumn leakages or IAC fault.

Is the MIL/CEL showing?

A tuneup and plug, fuel filter change should be considered.

Hello,

I had to google what MIL/CEL is, but no that light is not lit, but the Maitenance Required light is lit. I paid for Honda Care at time of purchase. If what you say is th cause of the problems, that sounds like something to me that is not from normal wear and tear, which would then be covered right? Is one of the car's systems failing?

Hi Daniel,

No Check Enghine Light means no abnormal system malfunction.

It should be a maintenence problem as the maintenence required light is showing.
Time to send in the vehicle for servicing and checking of
1. Spark plugs and related parts.
2. Fuel filters.
3. Injectors.
