My car is making this weird noise around the pulley and timing belt area. However, it stops when i rev the engine to 2 grand. It sounds as if something is loose or if a bearing is broke. The noise is hard to describe, it sounds like a ticking scraping sound. I have been reading that the belt tensioner pulley is a common problem, i wonder if that is the case. Any body with any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds like a pulley is the culprit. To find which pulley may be a bit difficult. Have a listen to all the external pullies, if they are fine you will have to remove the timing covers to access the timing belt pullies.
