My car, which has been parked in a garage for five days won't turn On at all. I cannot even move it to Neurtral to pull it out of garage to try to jump it. The temperature was not lower than 35 while I was gone and not over 65ish. It was working fine when I parked it. I am going to call the mechanic, but just wanted to have a heads up as to the possibilities.

UM, . NO. Not yet. The battery is less than a year old. The point of the question was that I couldn't even put the car into Neutral to back it out of the garage enough to even be able to Open the hood and/or even try to jump the battery. Perhaps I should have asked, ' hey, what would make the car not even shift into neutral?" I know the trick to jostle the steering wheel enough to unlock the wheel - but the wheel Isn't locked. I can turn it. But there is NO putting the gear (automatic transmission) into neutral. So I am quite baffled. I've never come up against this type of problem before.
Buut.I will see tomorrow if I can open the hood. Who knows, maybe the battery came disconnected somehow? Tonite, it was dark - and quite cold - in the garage (apartment garage. The overhead light wouldn't stay on), no one had a flashlight, I had just driving NINE hours home from a trip. You get the picture. SIiggh. Let's hope things look better in the morning! :)

There's a small cover (left side of the center console panel) use a small flat head screwdriver to remove it and insert the a small flat head scredriver into the hole to release the gear out of park.
