There are many variables to your question. If you buy a used engine you could find one in the $500-$1000 range. A new one would be much more.
Labor for replacing an engine would vary widely by shop, but you can expect to pay around $1000 for labor.
If you wanted someone to rebuild it you would be looking at $1000-$2000 depending on what all you had them do.
