This has been happening for the past 3-4 days. The clutch has started feeling kind of limp and gear shift is hard. When the car is cold, the gear just won't shift. However, after running the engine for about 3 minutes, the gears can be shifted. the clutch oil was really low and I topped it up. Still the problem persists. Is it a clutch assy or tranny problem? What would be the approx cost to fix it? I got a wide range of quotes from $300 to $1000. Thanks in advance.

Addl info: The clutch oil reservoir had a kind of black rubber cup. First I poured oil into that cup, but a day later, found it "still there". So I took out the cup and poured oil directly into the reservoir up to the Max mark. Is that OK?

Hi Babu Iyer,

If clutch fluid is getting lost, you need to check the hydraulic system, master and slave cylinders and adjustments.

What fluid did you use for the clutch?
