I had a problem with my Honda accord, I knew the engine mounts were bad so I changed them, but after their was a stalling at around 3000rpm the engine would start shaking and wont go pass 4000rpm.I thought it was the ignition coil, I checked them all and their was one melted so I replaced it. Even after the problem still remains. What can I do to fix this?

Hi navin08,

Is the CEL showing?

Did you check the spark plugs?
Check the TPS calibration.

How is the TPS re-calibrated. Could it be done with a diagnostic tool or special tools

TPS can be calibrated with a voltmeter.
At fully closed throttle 0.5 v
Fully opened throttle 5 v.

Thank you for the re-calibration information.
Now at fully closed throttle, if I do not get 0.5V, what do I do next.

2. What would bring my CEL on and using my diag tool it gives me code P1259-manufacturer specific DTC. What could this mean on 2002 honda accord. Though, on idle it performs well but when I rev. It doesn't go beyond 4000rpm.

Hi there,

P1259 is a problem with the V-Tec system. When you cannot rev pass 4000 rpm, it is related.

If you cannot get 0.5 v, then you need to unloosen the TPS holding bolt and adjust. If unable to get the reading, replacement is necessary.
