I have a accord 98 model the thing just will not stay running , on hot cold anytime u start it and it cuts right off like after second sometime it will run fine but u get u get in that car it will shut off before u get out the driveway, I lokk and read about everythong wrong with these year The problem is so common that it's been coined the "petrol station fuel relay" from fuel station attendants. The technical name for the main relay is PGM-EFI Main Relay Assembly. PGM stands for programmed, EFI stands for Electronic Fuel Injection. Could that casuse this problem the code I got with my actron is p0108 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Intermittent what is that is this the relay just to the sdie of hood latch how do I test it find it and replace it ? Dose this sound like what would make it run the shut off?

Hi mikedurham25,

What you are experiencing is not due to the main relay.

You have a fault with the MAP sensor located on top of the throttle body. This will cause frequent stalling and you need to replace it to rectify the problem.

Hi mikedurham25,

DTC P0108: MAP SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE.

MAP is one of the main item for monitoring/controlling idling speed and fuel supplr. If it is faulty, the engine tends to stall and starting is harder than normal.

Hi mikedurham25,

Yes, the MAP is the piece atop the throttle body.

Make sure the ratings are the same, if not you might get an error code after replacement.

It is possible for the MAP to fail due to contaminations but there is no way of cleaning it.
