1998 Honda Accord engine shuts off

1998 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

motor shuts off going down highway. No dash lights, headlights, nothing at all. Motor will start after two or three tries. This may be only about 30 seconds, so I don't believe this gives anything time to "cool down". I may drive the car for several days before symptom shows up again. Car has 240,000 miles on it.

Hi snowshovel,

Symptoms indicates a faulty ignition switch. There was a reacl on this item, check with your local dealer if your vehicle is within the list for the recall.
