My card recently started jerking when I go to accelerate mainly after braking. I took it to a mechanic who also did a diagnostic check and told me my vehicle speed sensor needs to be repaired. The jerking also causes my odometer and speedometer to work when it feels like it and also makes the shift levels on the dash flash back and forth. Is the sensor the problem? Also, where is it located and is it hard to get to?

Yes, a faulty VSS signal can cause transmission problems. If the transmission does not know the vehicle speed it may cause improper shifts.

The VSS should be located on top of the transmission housing. It is a 3 wire plug.
