1996 Honda Accord clucth

I have a 1996 honda accord ex with a fuid leak problem, every 3 month it leaks out. How do I detect that problem and correct it, do I need a new clucth.

Hi Jerry,

If it is fluid leakages, you do not need a new clutch. You might need a new clutch master and/or slave cylinder.

To check for leakages, the common area would be the slave cylinder. Flip the dust seal aside to look for accumulated fluids that had leaked out.

Next to check would be the master cylinder. Get under the dash and inspect the master cylinder push rod and dust seal area for fluid leakage. Rust formation and peeling paintwork is a sign of leakage.

The thord item to check would be the fluid lines and the damper valve ( if equipped). Look for signs of rust formation or dampness.
