Hello! I just bought a '95 Honda Accord Wagon, and I'm experiencing my transmission engaging harshly/harder than normal while driving down the highway, in the city, ect. I am wondering what is actually occurring when the transmission engages as it does. It engages harshly when switched into reverse, when switched back into drive, and also through all of the four gears while cruising down the road. I have flushed the transmission completely with new fluid, and the flush has improved the engagement slightly, but not signifigantly enough to be noticable. Can you help me diagnose this problem please? Thankyou for your time!

Hi bryantsk8,

There is a throttle pressure cable for the trans that if out of adjustment would result in harsh upshifting or down shifting.

The trans throttle should be adjusted to start moving only when the accelerator throttle valve starts to open and not before.
