The car stalls when braking but will start up after easily. Starts in the morning no problem and after every stall.

Help me! Please!

I've already spent $50 with no success.

Hi Murphd,

What is the idling speed after engine has warmed up?
Dos turning tha A/C on results in any changes in the idling speed?
What did you do to try to rectify?

The idling speed is 800 rpm which is normal, there is a slight change in RPM when the AC kicks in which is also normal.
The throttle body was cleaned by a local mechanic and I replaced the PCV with a new one.

I've done a lot of research on-line regarding this problem, one possability is the TPS (throttle position sensor) located on the top of the transmission.

The TPS is not located on the transmission. It is at side of throttle body. This part seldom fail for Honda vehicles and if it does, you would most likely have erratic gear shifting.

Get the valve clearance checked. If any is too tight, they would cause intermittent stalling when braking.

The idling speed should not change when the A/C compressor cuts in. If it drops and then moves back up to 800, the IAC is not working efficiently. If it was nt cleaned, get it cleaned as it is the man controlling component for engine idling.
