My car is having trouble switching gears. It speeds up but very slowly and I press down all the accelerator but only sometimes it actually switches gear, what can be the cause of that>?

Thank you

Hi there,

I feel that your transmission is slipping, you must first check the oil level & condition, it should be a red colour and not smell burnt. If you are not sure get a mechanic to inspect this for you.

And if the transmission fluid is red and not smelling burnt, what would you do?

You may have a torque converter problem or another internal issue, it is time to go get a few service tests done to determine the problem.
