1991 Honda Accord THRUST WASHER

I DRIVE A 1991 HONDA ACCORD. I NOTICED A OIL LEAK AND DECIDE TO REMOVE THE OIL PAN AND REPLACE THE GASKET. I THOUGHT WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO REPLACE ROD BEARINGS. AS I WAS TURNING THE CRANK THESE 2 HALF MOON WASHERS FELL OUT, CALLED THRUST WASHERS THE HONDA PLACE STATED. THEY COULDNT TELL ME WHERE THEY GO. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. THANKS SO MUCH

Thank you for the donation.

The thrust washers are placed between the 3rd cylinder crank journals. If you look up from below, you would notice that there is a larger gap at that area. Use a screwdriver to pry the crankshaft either forward or backwards to enable easier installaton of the washers.

Ensure that the groved sides are facing the crankshaft ( moving part) while installing.
