If im standing in front of my Honda with the hood up and leaning under the hood, which battery cord is the negative and positive? Both of the wire covers are black. Is the negative wire attached to the car usually on the left side if im leaning under the hood?

Your positive cable is usually going to have more wires attached to the terminal when the negative might just be one or two wires. Also batteries are usually marked pos or neg so you could take one terminal off and find out that way
