Gasoline is entering oil pan and causing dilution and lower viscosity. Oil test showed 2.5% gas (after 3,000 miles on vehicle and 1,500 miles since last change) and high wear metals. Oil up on dipstick at least one inch over top of plastic, which is at least 1.5 inches over top level. Oil smells of gas and dealer refuses to acknowledge problem. Put in a claim at Honda and they are worthless. Thought the Japanese held honor the highest. They are just lying to the customer. Any fixes they've tried for others (recall 2017-2018) have not worked. Going to put in a NHTSA complaint, also. Any ideas how to fix this problem or should the vehicle just be sold?

Hello,

Wow. It sounds like a manufacturing defect like the engine block was produced with the cylinder walls being out of round or something. The only solution I could think of would be one you probably don't want to hear and neither would I, and it would be to put sleeves in the cylinders to true them up. I can't believe Honda won't stand by their product. I actually went through Honda's technician training course and they have at least modules on how to report these problems and how to fix them. I would do just what you are doing by contacting the NHTSA. If you live in California you might also contact BAR. Please keep us informed and I apologize for them.

Thanks,
Alex
