Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com. Based on your description, it sounds like the blend air door actuator is not functioning. Based on the door's position, you will get heat or AC into the cabin. I have a feeling the actuator is bad and is not changing the door's position. Once you reach the actuator, make sure it is not functioning when you change the temperature settings. Often times, you will get a clicking from the actuator which indicates a plastic internal gear is damaged.
Here are directions and pictures to replace the actuator:

Removal Procedure
Remove the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).
Completely open the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door by pressing both tabs that support the stop bumpers. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement.
Remove the air temperature actuator screws.
Remove the air temperature actuator.
Disconnect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
Installation Procedure
Connect the air temperature actuator electrical connector.
Install the air temperature actuator.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the air temperature actuator screws.
Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.M (13 lb in).
Close the I/P compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement.
Install the fuse labeled HVAC CTRL (BATT).
