Starts fine, idles fine. When you put the car in gear idles fine. When you push the gas it jerks and shuts off. It does not matter what gear. No check engine light. Changed four O2 sensors, fuel filter, oil and filter, spark plug and wires, and lock out sensor for the transmission. Shifts into gear fine. What else could be wrong? Mechanic we took it to was unsure.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com.

Based on your description, I would start by checking fuel pump pressure to make sure it is not too low. Here are general directions for checking the pressure:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

The fuel pressure specifications for this vehicle are as follow:

4.6L V8
Engine running 193-310 kPa (28-45 psi)
Key "on" engine 242-310 kPa (35-45 psi)

5.4L V8
Engine running 193-310 kPa (28-45 psi)
Key "on" engine 242-310 kPa (35-45 psi)

Let me know what you find.

Take care,
Joe
