2006 charger v6 3.5 HO. Has a tick in upper engine like air intake or throttle. It's a single tick when I get the gas petal pushed down about an inch, it seems to be at a point in the petal and will do it in park drive or going 55 MPH when ever I get it to that spot in the petal it does a single tick then about 5 seconds after there like a metal on metal rub that only last for a second.

This person seems to have similar issue

Most noticeable under light load and low revs as its not particularly loud. When pushing the throttle almost any amount under these conditions I can hear a single tick or click, metallic and "thin" (like the lid flapping on an empty soup can) sounding about half a second after the throttle is pressed, at roughly the moment that power actual transfer occurs. If I feather the throttle under the mentioned conditions the sound occurs every time. The sounds is consistent, doesn't change at all based on throttle amount or any other condition.

It doesn't seem suspension related as you can apply the throttle so little that no real weight transfer happens.

The upper part of the engine is the valve train, it could be a lifter, rocker arms etc. Noise travels around the engine it's hard to determine where it's coming from, since it can tick while at park try using a stethoscope and listen to it very carefully.

This may be a sound before the knock sensor kicks in and it may be like spark knock. we don't have access to your manual to see if there are any tsb's on this so check back in a few days. I doubt it's valve train though as that would tick constantly. It could be something in the air filter area as well though, like when you have steady air flow then increases as you push down gas pedal.
