Hi and thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
It sounds like the mode door actuator has failed. The actuator in this vehicle is vacuum operated, so before replacing the actuator, make sure vacuum is getting to it. The actuator is responsible for air flow direction.
Here are the directions for replacing the actuator. Again, that is the first thing I recommend checking. Make sure vacuum is available to it. The vacuum comes from the engine to the panel and then the actuator, so there could be an issue at a different location. The attached pictures correlate with these directions.

1. Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator.
2. Remove the IP knee bolster bracket.
3. Disconnect the support clip for the ignition switch harness.
4. Disconnect the vacuum line from the mode actuator.
5. Lift the lock tab up (1) to remove the actuator.
6. Remove the mode actuator off the slides of the HVAC module assembly.
7. Disconnect the actuator pushrod from the mode door lever and remove the actuator.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the actuator pushrod to the mode door lever.
2. Position the actuator on to the slides of the HVAC module assembly.
3. Ensure that the lock tab (1) locks the actuator.
4. Connect the vacuum lines to the mode actuator.
