Heater only works while driving

My heater will only blow hot air when I am driving and have my foot on the gas pedal.

make sure the coolant level is correct. if it is then it sounds like your heater core is partially blocked with debris. you can flush it out by removing the hoses and using a garden hose to flush in both directions.
