Heater stopped working

We have a MK three Ford Mondeo 2lt diesel 55 reg. the heater was working fine and now suddenly we have no heat. I have replaced thermostat and still no change. also, possibly a strong perfume smell in the car ( i can smell but partner cannot). Have flushed the matrix and refilled with water and coolant/antifreeze. Any ideas please?

It sounds like you have a blend door actuator that has gone bad. Here are a couple of guides that can help you figure out what's going on.
