When set to heat it blows cold air?

When set to heat it blows cold air. A friend did something under the dash to get the air conditioner to work at the beginning of summer. He said he unplugged something to get the heat to stop. What would they have unplugged? Is it easy for someone (me) with no mechanical skill to fix?

Yes, you should be able to, just stick with it, here is what they unplugged which is the temperature blend door control cable from the climate control panel, also please watch this video which will help as well and check out the images below:
