Hello,

An engine can overheat due to several factors.
It could be for being low on coolant, a stuck closed thermostat, bad water pump, faulty radiator, inoperative radiator fan. It can also overheat if there is a clog in the system.

As you have changed the thermostat and the head gasket. Check to see if the cooling fan is operational.
With the engine running at the operating temperature the cooling fans should turn on.
Inoperative cooling fan can be due to a bad fan relay, wiring issue, faulty coolant temperature sensor, or a bad fan motor.

Here is a helpful guide:

If the fan operates then it could be a bad water pump. A faulty water pump will be unable to circulate the coolant properly through the engine and that will lead to overheating.
Many times, the impeller inside the water pump breaks or fails to spin, this will cause overheating issues.

Please let me know what you find.
Thank you.
