I should tell you that this started because my key doesn't unlock my door anymore so when I can't lock my doors. When I did one time I had to use a coat hanger to open my door. How do I fix this?

Most likely you have an active security issue when this happens. I would suggest we address the key issue and I suspect it will solve the light flashing issue.

Do do this, let's start with checking for codes.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Once we see if there are codes that will help determine if there are other issues. If not, I would get a key and have it programmed to the vehicle so that you can unlock the doors. When you unlock them with the button on the key it disarms the alarm system as well.

Let us know if there are codes or if you have questions. Thanks

The button on the key doesn't unlock the doors anymore. I should explain that when I first bought it I one key was used to start it and one to unlock the doors. But when I took it back to the guy I bought it from because the lights kept blinking every time I opened the door he cut some wires that made it unable to use the key to unlock the door with the button. So I was only able to unlock the door manually, then after awhile I wasn't able to even do that. The key goes in but doesn't turn to unlock the door. So I cant lock the doors anymore.

Oh boy. Do we know what wires he cut? Do you know where they are? We are going to have to repair that before we are able to figure this out.

If you know where they are? Can you get a picture of it and we can try to put this back together and see what happens? Then go from there. Thanks

Okay. So I'm sending a picture of the box he took out. I'm not sure where he took it from. If you tell me what to look for, I'll search. Wouldn't it be easier if I had the key fixed? Then I could just turn off the alarm manually at the door. Or is that even an option? BTW thank you so much for your help. I had no idea what to do or who to ask.

While it doesn't say what it is I suspect that is an alarm system. No matter what it is, it is not a factory item because they do not use those type of connectors.

I think at this point the best course of action would be to take care of the key and go from there.

Keep us updated with what happens. Thanks

Okay. Real quick, how do I do that? Also, today after putting gas my car wouldn't start. I had it jumped, it stayed on for a minute then shut off. Could it be the alternator? Fyi: I just bought a new battery two days ago.

Yes. If the battery is draining that quickly then I suspect the alternator is not operating. Here is how you test that:

Let me know if you have questions but most parts store are able to test this. Thanks

Thanks. I had to replace the alternator. I have one more question, do you know where I can find instructions on how to change the cable door handle (front passenger side) on a 2005 Honda Accord?

Thanks for the update. That is good news.

We can definitely help with that but we have to start a new post for it. Not only are we here to help you but others that have the same issues as you. They will not be able to find that answer under this post so we need to start a new one.
