Hard starting and when the gas pedal is released, the engine shuts off immediately

While attempting to start the engine, I need to press the gas pedal for it to start. Then when the gas pedal is released, the engine shuts off immediately.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, please understand this vehicle isn't offered in the US so I have little to no technical information, but I will do my best to direct you. Understand that with a fuel injected engine, when you press the throttle when starting, it shuts the injectors off. So, since it starts like that, I first suspect there is a problem with the fuel pressure. The first thing I recommend checking is fuel pressure and the fuel pressure regulator. Here is a link that explains how in general it is done. I have a feeling you will find the pressure to be too high.
