I replaced my air filter, which was very dirty. I turned on car and it sounded and felt better. I drove to the store and my car started jerking when shifting gears and shifting in reverse and drive. It hasn't done this before and how weird that it just started after replacing the air filter. I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu 6cyl. Please help this broke college student. Thanks

Hello,

Check the connection to the mass air flow sensor. If it was disconnected during the air filter install and did not get plugged back in properly it will impact the way the car will drive. As the computer is unable to detect the amount of air flow to the engine.

I have attached diagrams below for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
