2001 GMC Yukon 4X4 low problem

After I put my truck into neutral and engage the 4x4 after waiting a few seconds for it to engage the truck jumps and does not shift or drive properly. I had been using the 4x4 low at high RPMs earlier that day.

4x4low is for low speeds only. It is a low range gear for maximum torque. It will jump when first engaged and will have much more harsh shifting.
