1996 GMC Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual

I am changing the motor in a 1996 GMC 1500 4x4 with manual transmission. It originally came with v-6, but putting a 4-8. Having trouble finding wiring harness and ecm and fuse box for this combo. I was sold a 1998 wiring harness with ecm and fuse box and it is spinning but won't turn over. Do you have any additional ideas I may try before giving up on this harness?

You say it spins. Do you mean it cranks, but wont start?When it cranks, does it get spark to the plugs, does it get fuel?If it gets spark, spray some starting fluid into the intake system, and if it starts, check the fuel system for pressure and go from there.
