Is there a certian patteren on what way to tighten the head bolts. Im putting a different engine in my truck. The truck has a 305 in it and I bought a 307.I was told to use a set of 305 heads on the 307 because itll bump the compression ratio up.

What kind of vehicle is the 307 coming out of?

Check to make sure that the heads wont need machining or modifications before sticking the 305 heads on the 307. Let me know after you find out that information and ill get you the torque pattern for those heads.

The 307 is comming out of a 68 chevelle. And theres nothing wrong with the heads.
