I just changed my cv axle and it didnt seem like there was much oil that came out of the front differential. Is the front differentail supposed to be full of oil. If so how do I change it and how much do I put back in. And can I just use transmission fluid or is there a special type of oil for that?

There are 2 plugs on the differential one on top of the other if you look at the front of it. Remove the bottom plug and top plug to drain it. Install the lower plug then fill the top plug until the oil comes out, then let it even off with the botton of the plug hole then install the top plug.***This takes gear oil only. Hope this helps
