When my engine starting knocking I took it in to the dealer where they said it was either the oil pump or main bearings. I drove home and had oil changed to 10w-40. Knock went away, but oil gauge barely registered any pressure. Couple of days later, oil pressure returned to normal. Any thoughts?

It sounds like it was an oil pump problem. You have have had a piece of debri in the spring that helps control pressure and now it has moved out. That would tell me that you may have pieces of valve stem seal in the pan or ?
