Hi,
I have a 1993 GMC -G-20 Customized Van, with a 350 engine, with approx.. 85,000 miles, which I purchased new. Although it is pretty old, I take very good care of it and it is in good condition, inside and out.
My problem started two days ago about 5 minutes into my trip from home. While driving and listening to the radio, the radio suddenly went out. Everything else appeared, at first, to be o.k.. Then the radio display came on dimly, but no sound, and went out again. My turn-signals slowed up, and barely flashed. I pulled the vehicle over to the curb, and turned it off. When I attempted to start it again, it wouldn't turn over. The battery appeared to be weak. I used my portable 12volt booster and the vehicle started right up. When I attempted to drive back to my house, which was a few blocks away, I noticed that the transmission was not changing gears. The vehicle was revving up, but not moving as it should. I put the vehicle and park, waited a few minutes and was able to drive it home.
The next day I went out and attempted to start the vehicle. It started o.k., and everything seemed normal for about 3 minutes. After that, the radio went dead again, and the flashers slowed as before. I didn't attempt to drive it again.
Based on the above information, can you please tell me what you feel might be the problem. I have no other problems with this vehicle.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely
Ed

Check the battery connections and make sure its clean and tight. Have the charging system and the ignition switch check.
