ABS System

I own a 2000 GMC Jimmy V6, 86,000 miles and about every 2-3 months as I'm driving I feel like the car is skidding or sliding when I try to stop. Right after that, the ABS light is on. I take it to the repair shop, they say it is a sensor and put a new one in. Since I have had the vehicle this has occurred 12 times. A bit too much, don't you think? Should I switch repair shops? Should I get rid of the vehicle, is this always going to happen? Thankfully, the time between sensors is so brief, most of the time they are still under warranty, but it's the 1-2 days without my car that is difficult

I think you need to have a talk with the owner of the shop. You need to firmly explain how your trying to be loyal, but are continually being inconveineced by faulty parts assuming the diagnosis is correct. Be nice, but be firm. It may be a harness problem, not the sensor. May want to suggest an OEM one.
