All of a sudden the vehicle starting getting horrible gas mileage. I hooked it up to a diag machine and no error codes were present. It also passed smog this weekend with flying colors.

I then proceeded to do a 90k mile tuneup.

The usual cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel, air and pcv.

I was unable to reach the #3 plug as the steering rod is in the way, any hints?

After the tuneup the car had a slight miss on acceleration.

I used all AC Delco and inspected all the plugs before installing. I also swapped out the old cap, rotor and coil wire but got the same issue.

Drove it about 5 miles and it starting popping a bit, hope the cat is ok!

Please advise

Thanks,

Rich

Well after some more searching online I found the answer to one of my questions!

Looks like you need to pull the steering shaft to get the #3 plug out.

All the sparks plugs can be accessed through the wheel wells. To get the last one, you simply move the steering shaft. Moving the steering shaft only takes a couple minutes and saves a lot of struggling and busted knuckles. The steering shaft has one bolt at the steering box, simply loosen the bolt and then the steering shaft will collapse into itself and out of the way. It is keyed to only fit one way, so there is no need to worry about misalignment when reinstalling. Using this method, all 6 plugs can be changed out easily and efficiently in less than 30 minutes.

Hopefully that fixes the Miss!

I got the #3 plug out with a 3/4 stubby gear wrench on a 5/8ths socket from the top.

That fixed the Miss!
