Transmission problem
1997 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

OK...so I just replaced the transmission on this 97 Jimmy. I went through the floor to get at one of the bolts just behind the gas pedal. In the process I damaged the wire harness that runs to the plugs on the drivers side of the tranny where the shift cable hooks up. I know..."DUMB @ss!!" I hooked the wires back together after the trans was removed. Only thing is, there were 2 yellow, 2 pink, and 2 green that had no distinguishing markings. I had a 50/50 shot. I got the trans back in and now the key is stuck in the ignition and it won't shift. I have power to the windows and the gauges work when I turn the key. Looking at the wires going to the shifter, there is a green and a yellow. So I guess I was on the losing end of the 50/50 shot. What I did is first swapped the greens with no results. Switched the greens back and switched the yellows with no results also. So I then switched the greens again (last option) and still have nothing. I've read similar symptoms pointing to the ignition switch. But not sure if this is it since I seem to have more things powered then the other posts.
So is anyone as dumb as me? Can anyone help?

I looked at a 98 jimmy console shift- interlock mechanism. I know you said 97,but, the 97 didn't have the wiring colors that you mentioned. Maybe I got wires crossed, somewhere, let me know. The wires coming in the top of shifter are fuse protected, maybe you blew a fuse? Below are the fuses for 98 console shift.
