Even though the Jimmy has 217K miles I think it has a few thousand more left. We had problems with it not starting and I had local mechanic replace the fuel pump. After about two months (and maybe 300 miles) later, I noticed the Jimmy was using an excessive amount (>10mpg) of fuel and smoking a little bit of greyish smoke.

A friend told me I may have a injector stuck. I use Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner and thought maybe putting some of that in would fix it but it didn't help.

Any ideas?

Hello and thanks for donating

Engine is definitely running rich which means it is not using all the fuel being sent to it, so the rest is being burnt externally, turning into smoke. Check the spark plugs to ensure they are all getting healthy spark. Also make sure the air filter is clean. Oxygen sensors can also cause this issue so if you don't know when they were replaced last it would be a good time to do so.
